Multiple Sailfish

Capt. Nick Cremasco

Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fished a 3/4 day today with David and his buddies from Ohio. We caught a little bait then started the day trolling. I was pleasantly surprised with some early action. I was looking into the sun just after getting the spread out and had a super aggressive short rigger bite with line dumping off the reel. I locked it up prematurely thinking it was a king or a wahoo and it came up jumping. Sailfish on for about 15 jumps and came off. Got the short rigger back out and hooked a fish on the left long. And then a 2nd on the prospect of the dredge. Double header sailfish on and been fishing 10 minutes. 1 came off in the turn and we released the other. It was a great start with a steady pace. We trolled from 8:30-12 and raised 7 sailfish had 6 bites and released 3. All three were first time sailfish releases for our lucky anglers. 2 of which got @thebillfishfoundation tags. I went through 65 baits on bonito and our 6 sail bites. Spent last hour cobia fishing and caught 1 cobia and lost another. Couple days off for maintenance and weather back out Friday.
