Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

February 7:
After scratching yesterdays charter with Steve because of weather we were able to get out today for some kite fishing and trolling for sailfish and dolphin. We fished a 3/4 day and made the most of it. We started the morning kite fishing for sailfish and dolphin and had some immediate action. We caught and released 2 out of 3 sailfish bites and saw a couple others swim around the baits that did not bite. We also caught 2 out of 5 mahis, some sharks, and bonito while kite fishing.
The kite fishing bite slowed so I decided to switch gears to trolling for dolphin and sailfish. We had decent action for a couple of hours of trolling catching 3 out of 5 mahis and having a couple of other sailfish bites that we missed.
Looking forward to tomorrows Stuart Florida fishing charter!

February 8:
After 2 cancellations because of weather we were able to get Bruce and his son out for a day of fishing for dolphin and sailfish. Deep sea fishing charters for dolphin and sailfish are done within 10 miles of the inlet this time of year. And that is where we found Bruce and his sons first sailfish and dolphin for dinner.
Give us a call to book your Deep sea fishing charter.

February 9:
Today we fished with Bob and Jeff for Bobs Birthday fishing charter.
Running offshore I spotted a tailing sail. We stopped and deployed a spread of live bait and had a bite on the first bait out but didn't come tight. Live bait fished another hour without a bite. Decided to go trolling and fired out the dredges and a spread of ballyhoo and never had a bite over the course of an hour.
Decided to go bottom fishing. We had non stop action catching Almaco Jacks, Amberjacks, Lane Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Genuine Red Snapper, Grouper, Chocolate Chip Porgies, Rose Porgies, Triggerfish, Black Sea Bass, Calico Sea Bass, giant Blue Runners and more.
We had 6 BIG fish bites but unfortunately pulled the hook or broke them off in the bottom. We kept 25 fish for the guys to eat. Not what we were hoping for! But a backup plan that works is a great plan!

February 10:
Today we fished a 1/2 day charter with Josh and his guest Mike and Lisa from Rhode Island. We left a little late, caught some bait and ran off and started kite fishing. We quickly caught a dolphin and hooked a double header of sailfish shortly thereafter. It took an hour and 20 minutes to land the two sailfish. One was tail wrapped and the other became fouled in the leader. One fish went East and one fish went West giving us a 7-10 Sailfish split! We had almost all the line out on both reels and there was nothing I could do with the boat without sacrificing one of the fish so Josh and MIke dead Boated the fish till the end. Great job guys its not usually that tough!
We set back up and kite fished for another hour without a bite. I decided to start trolling to cover some ground and we had one single sailfish bite and released it. Unfortunately no other bites for us. BUT dinner and a show. 3 sailfish and dolphin for dinner!

February 14:
Great day of fishing for our guest today. Their wives got them a 3/4 day fishing charter for Valentines and away we went. We caught 9 out of 16 mahi mahi bites on the troll. I saved some time on the ride home to look for cobia and we found one that we caught. That fish weighed around 35lbs.
A total meat fest for our anglers today. Glad to have some normal fishing again.
