Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

Snapper, Sailfish, Mahi-mahi and Grouper a Plenty. River Fishing Is On Fire.
Sailfish continue to bite on our trolling and kite fishing charters Out of Stuart Florida. The bite spikes on the back side of cold fronts and has been slowing a little pre frontal. There is a big body of fish well to the North still and a couple of back to back cold blast will have consistent mahi mahi and sailfish action right out in front of the St Lucie Inlet just in time for peak season in January. We have had some decent days catching 4-5 sailfish and a 1/2 dozen to 15 Mahis. We are seeing some better sized Mahis show up as well in the 12-18lb class. I also caught and released my 2nd ever Spearfish and the first one I have ever caught on the DayMaker or out of Stuart!

Bottom fishing has been great when conditions are recovered from the high winds from fronts. We have caught some nice sized Gag Grouper to 30lbs, plenty of Amberjack, snapper are plentiful but not big yet. We caught 60 snapper one day and that adds up to non-stop action and plenty of fish tacos. Snapper species include Bermillion, Lane, Mangrove, and Mutton snapper. We have caught a handful of Cobia on our bottom fishing trips as well. Cobia fishing should really start to improve over the coming weeks. Sight fishing will get started soon for these tasty fish that fight hard and jump as well. Look for increased Cobia, Mahi mahi, Sailfish and Blackfin Tuna action over the next 4-6 weeks. Snapper fishing should remain strong as well as Grouper and Amberjack.

River fishing has been on fire and Marshall has reported great snook action (catch and release). They have had days catching 5, 11, 13 and 18 snook on just 4 and 5 hour trips. Included with the snook releases are plenty of Spanish mackerel, croakers, sheepshead, snapper, pompano and blue fish. Tripletail have been plentiful around the crab trap buoys as well. Some nice tripletail in the 4-10lb range have been caught by Marshalls clients the last couple of trips as well.
Plenty of non-stop action great for the kids, novice or experienced anglers.

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND LOOK FORWARD TO TAKING YOU ON A FISHING ADVENTURE IN 2017.
