Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

February 28:
Today we our deep sea fishing charter was with regular customers Frank, Doug, Bill and Bob. A cold front was pushing through and traditionally speaking this makes for great fishing during the Winter and early Spring. Our hopes and expectations were to live bait or troll for dolphin and sailfish.
Well, the fish gods didn't really agree with our plan. We ended up cutting our day short from a full day charter to a 3/4 day fishing charter. We ended up catching a couple bonito on the troll and a few dolphin we kept up to 12lbs. We also released a 30lb Jack Crevalle caught while live baiting for Cobia.
March 1:
Today our Treasure Coast fishing charter was with Alex Stevens and his friend Simon Karey. We enjoyed some great fishing on our full day fishing charter. We caught 16 Dolphin and released a Sailfish while on a trolling charter for Dolphin and Sailfish.
The guys enjoyed catching some nice size fish up to 28 lbs. and the sail weighed about 45 lbs. that we released. Fishing is shaping up and we are looking forward to great Stuart FL fishing charters to come.

March 3:
Today we fished our deep sea fishing charter with Tony, his son Jeff and his Grandchildren Jeff and Mat. Weather was a little choppy today with the passing cold front but fishing has been great and we had big expectations with the previous days fishing. We fished a midday 1/2 day and released a single sail and boxed 14 dolphin up to 15 lbs.
Expect great springtime fishing charters to continue for the coming months. Plenty of meat to be had between Dolphin, Cobia, Grouper and Amberjack. Give us a call or shoot us an email to book your deep sea fishing charter aboard DayMaker charters the most versatile charter boat in South Florida.

March 4:
Today we fished with Steve and his buddies from North Florida. The guys wanted meat and based on the last couple days of charter fishing this would not be a problem. It was the 3rd day of North wind and the coldest night and projected coldest day we have had all Winter. All things were adding up for some great fishing.
We started the day jumping off a dolphin and catching a couple single dolphin in the 10 lb. range. We then hooked a single sail on the flat line and promptly released the fish. The guys decided they did not want to catch anymore sails. So when the next sail swam into the spread we cranked the bait away.
Well... let's just say the sails were super hungry today and this would end up being one of the top 5 days for the Winter as far as sail action was concerned. We saw a total of 16 sails and had 11 bites from fish that we broke off or cranked the baits away because our guys didn't want to fight them. We ended up only catching 3 out of 6 mahi bites and called it a day early because of the lack of cooperation from the mahi's.

March 5:
Today our South Florida fishing charter was with Gerry and his guest from Tennessee. We enjoyed flat calm seas and epic charter fishing. The sails and dolphin did not let us down from the time we started fishing till the time we were suppose to come home. We ended up trolling all day with circle hook ballyhoo and a ballyhoo dredge. Before we got the entire spread out at around 8:30 am we hooked and landed 3 out of 4 gaffer dolphin. Little did we know this would be the norm for the day.
We ended the day keeping 22 Mahi from 7-14 lbs. and we also caught and released 3 out of 6 sail bites. All of the sails caught were hooked and landed by anglers who had never caught a sail before. A great day of charter fishing Jensen Beach Fl. Give us a call to book your Spring time charter for fishing the Sailfish Capital of the World.
