Sheepshead Steady - Tripletail on the Horizon

Capt. Bob Bushholz
March 5, 2014
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

The St. Lucie Inlet continues to hold some very nice sheepshead to four pounds on both incoming and outgoing tides. We seem to do best drifting when the wind and current are in the same direction. Shrimp and trollrites bouncing along the bottom works great. The bridges have been decent lately with black drum to 6 lbs., a few snook and trout and smaller mangrove snapper. Pompano have been scattered at the Stuart Causeway but you have to put in your time.

It's about tripletail time here in Stuart. I fish these guys pretty hard March - October. These are about the best eating fish on planet earth and can run anywhere from 1 - 30 lbs.
