St. Lucie Inlet Fishing

Capt. Bob Bushholz
November 3, 2016
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

I had the pleasure to fish the other day with Jeff Grand along with Ray and Tim Clarke from Port St. Lucie. We departed the marina around 8am and headed straight for the St. Lucie inlet to catch the last couple hours of incoming tide. Fishing with shrimp on trollrite jigs, the group had great action catching plenty of jacks, ladyfish, mutton snappers and 6 snook. Salinity levels will be much higher on late incoming or the first couple hours of outgoing tides.

As the current slowed down we departed the inlet and ran north a few miles to structure fish around the causeway. More jacks, grunts, snapper along with a 2 lb croaker and a 25" redfish.

Look for the pompano action to start picking up soon along with the mackerel bite just outside the inlet once the winds die down.
