Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

The breeze has been out the west for two weeks but we are finally getting the cange in direction we have been waiting for. This week the wind is shifting more to the southeast which should make the fishing heat up. Not that it has been bad. Sailfish, dolphin , kings, and bonita have been caught in decent numbers. Live bait has been plentiful both north and south of the inlet. We have been able to limit out on kings every time out in forty to sixty feet of water. The bonita are everywhere. As much fun as they are to catch, they can become annoying after a while. The sailfish bite has been pretty good for this time of year. Just about every boat is seeing one or two each trip out. The dolphin have been scattered but if you luck into them you can quickly become overwhelmed if you keep one in the water. The trick is not to get tangled as they inhale everything you throw at them. Look for cobia near the beach in the bait pods. Several have been caught sight casting live baits to them. Catch and release snook are at the inlet rocks along with early morning tarpon. The tarpon are also at the bridges and the north fork of the St. Lucie River. The snapper bite has been decent when the current allows. Sixty to eighty feet on the Six Mile Reef is a good place to start along with the Loran Tower Ledge. We are looking forward to a great week of fishing. More Later.
