Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

I spent a couple of days on a Stuart and Jupiter fishing guide trip with Missouri anglers Bill and Eric. They were new to Snook fishing, and I was eager to show them what it was all about. The conditions played a huge role in this trip. While the weather was great, for some reason an abnormally high swell was running both days, hurting the bite bigtime. Of course the marine forecasts didn't seem to mention this! Despite that, we found some windows of fishable water. The fish we found were quite stubborn, but with precise and quiet presentations and a light leader we were able to get a few to go. By the way, the mullet run was in full swing when I was scouting things out the day BEFORE the trips! Lots of Tarpon, Jacks, even 2 Cobia cruising around. I look forward to fishing with these guys again next June!

Stuart Fishing Forecast:

Be versatile this time of year...have both small and large offerings to imitate both Mullet AND the always-present sardines, glass minnows, and herring. You never know what will pop up in front of you this time of year, or where the Mullet will be.
