Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

July 13:
Plenty of Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna to go around for our customers today!

July 16:
Ran over to west end with the DayMaker to meet Rob his family and guests at their rental home. Plan was to fish a couple of full days aboard Robs 41' Hydra Sport but we had some boat issues the first day and because of fuel restraints the second day at Old Bahama Bay we were limited to a 1/2 day of fishing both days. We caught a nice catch of Yellow Eye Snapper and some Blackfin tuna in 5 hours of fishing the first day. The second day we trolled out from for blue marlin without a bite but we did manage a few snapper and 1 out of 3 Grouper up to 45lbs. The sharks found us the 2nd day pretty quickly!

July 20:
Tried a little bit of everything today and had adverse conditions. Cold water and riping current made things tough. We caught a couple of kingfish and plenty of bonito while drifting some live baits on the surface. We tried some bottom fishing and ended up only catching undersized sea bass and plenty of Atlantic Sharp Nose sharks. This is specifically due to the cold water that has invaded the area. Need a warming trend in a bad way...
July 22:
We had a great two day fishing charter with repeat clientele. We caught a total of 22 tuna keeping a limit of 18 up to 30lbs. We also caught 1 out of 3 blue marlin bites. On our second day of fishing we fished a 1/2 day bottom fishing before the guys decided they had enough meat and wanted to go home. We caught 17 snapper to 15lbs and a 60lb Grouper.

July 24:
Today we fished an East Side Tuna trip. We batteled some weather but ended up having some pretty good fishing. We had some bad luck but ended up coming home with a pile of fish. We caught 3 out of 7 Yellowfin Tuna we had hooked. The fish weighed between 40-65lbs. We also caught a dozen nice size blackfin tuna keeping a total of 9 for the day.
