Targeting Dolphin in the Spring

Capt. Nick Cremasco
March 26, 2013
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

March 19:

Today we fished our Deep Sea fishing charter with John George and his two sons. We started the day trolling hoping to catch some Dolphin or sailfish. Fishing was poor to say the least. We had a handful of Bonito bites and caught a dolphin. We looked for Cobia and decided after not finding any to cut our 3/4 day fishing charter into a 1/2 day Stuart FL fishing charter.

March 20:

Today we fished a 3/4 day fishing charter. With the slow fishing the day before we decided to focus our efforts on bottom fishing for Snapper and Cobia. We had an active 3/4 day fishing charter catching over 150 fish and 10 different species. Unfortunately, we did not find any Cobia and most of the fish we caught were under 5 pounds. We ended the day boxing 9 Snapper, some Porgies, Margates and Bluefish. We have a front pushing through tonight hopefully it will spark up the fishing for tomorrow.

March 21:

Today we fished with Matt and his guest from Cornell University. We left the dock around 9 and fished a mid-day 1/2 day fishing charter because of weather. We started the day kite fishing for sailfish and dolphin and it did not disappoint. We ended up release a double header of sails and caught 1-2 mahi's, 3 sharks and a couple bonito while on our kite fishing charter. We switched gears mid charter and started trolling for dolphin and sailfish. We jumped a couple more dolphin off and missed a sail trolling. We did manage a couple more bonito releases. Hoping the second day of North wind will produce some good Stuart FL fishing charter action for tomorrow.

March 22:

Today we fished with Tony and his guest for a 3/4 day Jensen Beach Fishing Charter. We enjoyed great action after a slow first hour. When we finally located the fish the charter fishing was GREAT. We spent the majority of our fishing charter trolling for dolphin. We kept 19 dolphin to 12 lbs. and on the way home encountered some bonus fish. We came across a couple Leatherback Turtles on the way home and managed to catch 5 Cobia from 15-45 lbs. on the way in from our Jensen Beach Charter for fishing. We enjoyed an action packed deep sea fishing charter. Spring is here so book your Stuart Fl fishing charter now.

March 24:

Got to enjoy a family wedding for the weekend. Looking forward to getting back to Stuart Deep Sea fishing charters on Monday. Book your Spring/Summer Jensen Beach fishing charter now. Days are limited.

March 25:

Powerful Front pushes through with hard NW wind and iffy weather. We cancelled our Treasure Coast fishing charter today because of the weather. We hope to get back out on the water tomorrow for another day to remember with DayMaker charters fishing a trolling charter for dolphin and sailfish.
