Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

December 15:
The goal was something to eat for John and his clients today and they wanted to troll. We started quickly with a 20 plus pound mahi mahi on the troll. We followed that up a little bit later with a double-header of 10-15lb Mahis and the an hour later a 25lb wahoo. We also released a 20lb barracuda. 5 bites and 5 quality sized fish. The trolling fell flat so we switched gears and caught some sea bass, triggerfish, Lane snapper and sharks on the bottom before calling it a day!

December 16:
Given the oil slick and summer like conditions on today's stuart deep sea fishing charter I felt like the trolling bite would be tough so we were prepared to attack the bottom. And attack the bottom we did. We kept a limit of Porgies, 6 Almaco Jacks, a couple of 30lb Amberjacks, 30 snapper including Lane, Mutton and Mangrove. We also kept triggerfish, seabass, and a mahi! We released a genuine red and a 20lb Warsaw grouper as well!

December 18:
After 3 years of trying we finally got Gary Love his brothers and father offshore for a fishing charter aboard the DayMaker! We beat the front for the most part and had decent action throughout the day especially on the troll! We had a ton of kingfish bites keeping a limit do 10 kingfish between 8-15lbs, we pulled a sailfish off, caught 4 mahi mahi to 20lbs and a couple of barracuda. We tried bottom fishing for a little while and the water seemed to get coolish over night and we caught some sea bass, vermillion snapper, a black grouper and lost a cobia to a Goliath grouper. We cut the trip about a 1/2 hour short because of deteriorating weather with the passing cold front!
