Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report
March 29:
Today we fished a morning 1/2 with Todd and Dana for their one year anniversary. We had excellent fishing today. We caught 12 mahi that we kept out of 20 bites. We also caught bonito and had 2 sailfish bites that we did not connect on.
Great day with lots of memories and lots of groceries for Todd and Dana.
March 30:
We caught 3 mahi today to 14lbs a blackfin tuna and some bonito on the troll. Switched it up and caught some snapper to 30lbs and 3 amberjack to 45lbs. Keep the rods bent, change it up if you have to. We sell action!
March 31:
Today we had a film crew on the boat for a photo/video shoot for Mojo Sportswear. We had excellent fishing in the morning for Cobia hooking 10 fish and landing 7. We kept 6 fish in the 30-50lb range and released another. After the limit of Cobia was accomplished the camera crew wanted some color for their video so we ran offshore in search of some mahi. We hooked and landed two and the guys got the footage we needed and we were eating lunch at a restaurant on the water at 12:30. A great day of Stuart Florida fishing for sure!
April 1:
I have a repeat Customer Joe with his Son Chris and Grandson Max today. Dolphin fishing slowed to a halt with the west wind but we had decent action on the bottom catching Amberjack to 40lbs, Lane Snapper and Seabass for dinner as well.
April 2:
Started our charter with Bob and Bob this morning Cobia fishing on inshore structure, about 10 minutes into it, I lost steering. I decided to run in after a short diagnosis revealed no problem. We ran in with the trim tabs and bow thruster for steering. Tied up at fuel dock and upon further investigation found nothing. Added about 2oz of fluid and headed back offshore. Caught 4 out of 6 mahi to 10lbs and some bottom fish and lost steering again.
Ran in with more difficulty than this morning and found a fully blown hydraulic line for the power steering this afternoon.
Repaired and ready for tomorrow!
