December Fishing Tampa/Clearwater

Capt. Jared Simonetti
December 8, 2016
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

December Fishing has been great!! Trout, Redfish, and Snook have all been keeping anglers busy in both Tampa Bay and Clearwater beach area.

Trout fishing has been outstanding with anglers catching quick limits of big trout on every trip! Live sardine's, shrimp, and artificial jigs are all working. Most of the trout have been between 17"-22".

Redfish bite has remained consistent for the last couple of weeks. The fish been been keyed in on shrimp on the bottom. Use a light jig head or a small weight. Artificial shrimp are also working.

Snook are moving in the back waters. Live sardines are still producing good numbers of snook freelined in the deep pockets of the canals, creeks, and rivers. Snook season is now closed so handle them with care.
