Great late season tarpon, snook and redfish

Capt. Brandon Henley
September 20, 2016
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

I just finished up a 4 day stretch with a fly fishing client of mine and we had a blast. The tarpon fishing is still good if you know where to look and they took our feathers with gusto. This fishery will remain good until cold weather hits.

The redfish bite is also good here on the southshore and the rest of Tampa Bay. Nice over slot fish have been taken with regularity. Live bait, soft plastic paddle tails and spoons will all get the job done.

Snook fishing is about to get awesome as soon as the water temps drop slightly. This will bring a lot of the spawners back into the backcountry. The topwater plug fishing will be incredible very soon. This is my favorite way to target snook and in the fall it's deadly.
