Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Redfish are what is biting the best right now in the Bay! We caught multiple reds on every trip this week with many of them being huge overslot redfish. These fish have been up in the mangroves on the higher tides and then pushing off the flats into deep potholes as the tide drops. I have also had some luck by poling really shallow flats looking for tailing fish. My clients on Wednesday had a ball sight casting to tailing reds. They caught some overslot fish to 34 inches and also a nice 25 incher for the grill. It was very exciting because we would spot the fish and then cast right infront of them and watch them blow up on the bait. They were really fired up. The redfishing is on fire right now and will only get better as the temperature drops soon into the fall.

Snook have been up in the mangroves and biting really well early in the day. The season is only a few weeks away and I still have some openings for people that want to try to get a keeper for the kitchen. It's a tough slot limit but theres some nice snook out there right now.

Although I haven't targeted tarpon for a few weeks they are still around and can be caught, I just haven't had any clients lately that have wanted to leave the shallow flats.
Thats it for this week, call me at 813-293-4750 or email me at [email protected] to book your charter today! Don't miss out on some great Tampa Bay fishing
