Tampa Bay Fishing Report

Capt. TJ Stewart
April 19, 2006
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

A little different!

Well let’s see how do we start this week out. It was a little windy about all week we did manage to get out fishing all week though. Each trip was a little different some days the morning trips were better and then other days the afternoon trips were more active. Overall each trip had it perks we had a lot of really nice fish.

As far as the Tarpon go we did not have any chance to get out and do much Tarpon fishing. It was too windy and rough to get out there and do any of that type of fishing. We did manage to catch some Kings they were not Silver Kings but they were some great King fish. We caught about a half dozen and lost many more. It was a good bite we caught the fish on the Snook rods so you can only imagine how hard the fish fought. We managed to catch some nice fish but the biggest being a 20 plus lb fish.

Then we have the Red fish. These fish have been very hard to catch but we have caught a few over the week. I think we need some rain or a little warmer water. The bait is starting to really show up in the bay so the big schools of fish should be getting to gather better.

The great Snook has been the best bite by all means we have caught a good amount of Snook each trip. Some days we have had some great fish of course all of the fish you catch are great but some big and we had a lot of nice fish this past week. We had a few fish that were at the top of the slot limit almost 34 inches. These we some really great fish as you can see in the pictures. Come visit www.castawaychartersinc.com for pictures.

TJ Stewart has the knowledge and intuition to find and hook the big ones – the battle will be up to you. Imagine the thrill and the power felt when a two hundred pound tarpon breaches the surface of the sky blue waters of Tampa Bay attempting to cast away the hook from his mouth. The
