Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

With water temps dropping below 60 degrees the snook and redfish bite has slowed a bit. However,
the sheephead continue to chew even on the coldest of days.

Sheephead are in their winter time spawn and
can be found indeep cuts, around bridges and on the flats hunkered up around any type of structure.

If fishing Tampa Bay, try fishing the cuts around Miguel. The flats at Piney Point or the
''Broken Bridge'' up the Little Manattee River.

Baits of choice include: shrimp, fiddlers, barnacles or Asian muscles.Try using a 1/0
hook and some split shot or a 1/8 oz. jig.
If your fishing around structure a rod with
a little back bone is necessary.Captains choice
is a EUPRO Diamond, it never fails to get the job done.

I dedicate this report to the "sheephead destroyer" /" snook master "Sean Rice jr. AKA "Ogie"!
This young man is feared by all sheephead and
truly has the nack for boating goats!
Young Sean is a proud member of O'Briens
REEL SIMPLE fishing club. If anyone else out there is interested in joining please go to
