Snook on the Move

Capt. Dustin Hilliard
March 16, 2016
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's getting fishy out there! The redfish bite has been consistent on high tide, around oyster bars and mangrove points. For bait, shrimp and pilchards working the best.

The snook are on the move to the beaches as they move into their spawning destinations. Moving water defiantly makes a difference in locating these fish. Use greenies, pinfish and shrimp with a 2/0 to 3/0 circle hook - matching the hook to the size of your bait.

Nice Trout have been stacking up in pods on the grass flats and in potholes. Use whitebait or 1/4 ounce jigs with Gulp shrimp. When it's windy like it's been, you should try to fish places you normally wouldn't, you just might find a new spot!

Tight Lines,
Captain Dustin
