Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's summer time on Tampa Bay, and that means it's time to switch up my fishing tactics. I'll still be fishing for snook and reds, but the way we fish for them changes up a bit. One thing I'll be targeting more over the next few months are Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel and maybe even a Grouper or two since Grouper season opened up on June 1st.

Fishing has been very good the past two weeks, even though it's been really hot. Like I said, I've had to change up the way we catch Snook and reds, by slowing down my presentation with the live bait. I cut the tails off so they swim slower, or I use cut bait on the bottom. Also fishing a little deeper where the water temp is a bit cooler seems to be more productive on the hotter days.

If you're heading to the Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg or Tarpon Springs area, and are looking for a fun inshore fishing adventure give me a ring.
