Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing in Tampa right now is just all around great. You name it and we can catch it right now. The upper and overslot size redfish are schooling up on the flats making for some great sight fishing opportunities with bait, artificials, or even fly if your up to the challenge. The snook fishing is phenomenal right now around mangrove shorelines as well as around the passes and the beach. Trout are all over the grassflats and make for some great table fare if you're looking for fish to bring home for dinner.
As far as tarpon fishing goes, its only getting better. They are by far my favorite fish to target this time of year and i guarantee after you hook one and see it jump right in front of you, you'll feel the same way. The bite around the skyway has been very hit or miss. Fishing on the beach has been improving everyday and i've heard of a decent bite at egmont but haven't been out there personally in the last few days. The fishing there should be on fire during the hill tides during this next full moon as the crabs will be flushing out of there like crazy.
