Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Tampa Bay Fishing Report 5/19714
The Wind, Rain, Full Moon and a Front moving through the Tampa Bay area this week caused the cancellation of a few Tarpon trips and forced us onto the flats in search of Redfish and Trout. The afternoon bite keep my anglers with bent rods.

11 year old DJ from Huntsville Alabama had Catching a Shark on his mind for over 2 weeks when his Grandfather told him about a fishing trip they were going on. Within 20 minutes at are first stop DJ yells A Shark, A Shark is taking my bait. That Shark ended up being a 32 inch Cobia, Which was a tad bit short. His next 4 fish were small Trout and he keep asking when are we going to catch a Shark? So we headed to a spot in the middle part of the bay and set out a chum block & I start cutting up some Threadfins.
The chum slick brought the Spanish Mackerel & Stingrays to the back of the boat for about and hour. Then DJ's line went screaming of the reel he had hooked up with a nice Blacktip Shark. His wish had come true. After landing 3 Blacktips he was whipped. His next trip later this summer, Tarpon.
It's great to see the smiles on young kids faces and making a Very Happy Grandfather. That's what it is all about.

Tarpon season isnow in full swing. So if you want to hook into one of these monsters and watch them leap out of the water and have some heart stopping actions call and reserve your spot now.
