Tampa Bay Fishing Reports - Snook Mania

Capt. John Rivers
March 13, 2017
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Spring showed up early in Tampa Bay and Clearwater Beach
The tourists have started to show up for Spring Break, ready to enjoy the sights, sun, and perhaps some fishing. The fish are already thick in the bay, and if Snook is on your bucket list, then you need to leave work right now, book the next flight to Tampa Bay and book a trip with me NOW! I'm catching 20 – 50 a day depending upon how many clients are on board. This is Light Tackle Fishing at it's finest.

Red fishing has been pretty good too; we're catching a few while snook fishing, but the fun really begins when we stumble upon a large school of fish and get multiple hookups.
With the snook bite so tremendous, I've not been targeting trout much, but if you like to catch a few, we can do that as well. We can also target the Mangrove Snappers. They not only put up a good fight, they taste good, too. Right now is a great time to aim for these tasty buggers. So as you can tell, fishing has really fired off in Tampa and it should be this productive for the next few months.

Spring Break is a great time to visit Tampa or Clearwater. We're not too hot yet and the fishing is very good, and there are plenty of species to go after.
You just have to pick the right fishing guide and that's where I come in. I've been guiding for over 15 years. I love fishing and even enjoy watching my clients catch fish just as much.
