Tampa Bay March 10 Fishing Report

Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Tampa Bay March 10 Fishing Report

Hello from Anna Maria. Whew! I think that was our last real cold blast for the year. It was a good one too. I think it was some of the coldest water I fished all winter. Strange that it came in March. We had to grind it out for a few days while it put the spring action on the shallow flats to a halt. We managed pretty well despite the water temp change though. On the colder days we caught a lot of Trout, Flounder and Sheepshead along with a few Redfish. When the wind slowed down we went offshore and caught a lot of Grouper, Snapper and Flounder. The big bonus was the Flounder. They where thick as thieves and good size ones too. It's hard to beat Flounder for eating.

Today was the first real warm day and it looks like that should be it for the colder water temps anyway. I left the Snook biting this afternoon and the water at 69 degrees. I expect tomorrow should be a big day for Snook as the water will hit the 70s. The Redfish should really pick up as well.

So I am looking forward to easier fishing. The Snook, Redfish and Trout will be on fire from here on. Offshore will just get better and better as well. With longer days and warmer temperatures it shouldn't be long before the Kingfish show up thick and the Permit as well. We have a lot to look forward to over the next few weeks.

Well I hope you have enjoyed my report. Have fun on the water.
