Tarpon and Snook Fishing is Excellent

Capt. Trajan Rodriguez
June 25, 2017
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

With the warm weather of summer comes big snook on the beaches and passes, and the tarpon migration.

It has been a slow year as compared to others for tarpon this season due to high winds and lots of rain, but there is plenty of fish around. Fish have been eating crabs and threadfins. Crabs can best be caught on the big evening outgoing tides of the full and new moons.

The snook are out spawning right now and will be feeding best in periods of low light. Pigfish, pinfish, and ladyfish will be tough baits to beat. Please treat these fish with care.

Stay safe out there and tight lines.
