Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Halloween has come and gone and the hunters are getting ready to go deer hunting, but how about us fishermen, what do we do? Well let me tell you: more fishing in Tampa Bay. The red fishing in Tampa Bay really picks up in November with the arrival of the cold fronts. These cold fronts drop water temps and the fish begin to feed more and in turn the bite turns on. Snook start to make their way towards the rivers and the speckled trout bite really picks up. Fall / Winter is one of my favorite times to fish, as I toss more artificials because the bait is a little more scarce on the flats in some areas.

When the bait is harder to come by in the winter, which it often can be in December and January, I'll keep a few boxes of my trusty lures handy. My go to's include MirrOlure's 17MR, Heddon's Spook, Bass Assassin's 5″ Fluke in a few of my favorite colors and Matrix Shad, a bait I've used for years for Trout and Redfish. I'll keep this Tampa Bay Fishing Report short and let the pics to the talking.

I've been really busy running trips over the past two weeks which is a good thing, and since the bite's been really good, there are lots of smiles and laughs from my clients. Thanks for stopping by my site Tampa Bay Inshore Guides.
