Upper Slot Size Redfish In Lower Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report
Recent cold front failed to have much effect on
redfish in lower Tampa Bay . Although last weeks
chilly weather and the full moon, this past
weekend put a damper on the snook bite. However,
expect to see an insane snook feeding frenzy
in coming weeks as bait fish(acompanied by warm
weather) continue to move on the flats.
The redfishing in Upper Tampa Bay has been
productive at Rocky point and Channel-A, as well
as the Weedon Island area. But the real action
and big fish can be found further south.
Schools of redfish in the thirty inch range
are beeing worked on the South Shore flats east
of Port Manatee and the keys west of the Skyway
Bridge. Most of the fish being taken have been
on live white bait or Gulp Shrimp hooked on a
1/4 or 3/8 jig head.
As for trout,it's like I said last week in my report for
Cyber Angler "their everywhere." Just work the
potholes along your favorite grass flats and it
should be game on!
Till next week, have a safe and quality day on
the water, Capt. Sean
