Warmer Water and Spring Patterns

Capt. Dustin Hilliard
February 24, 2016
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The water temperature has continued to increase as the transition from winter to spring takes place, with the cold fronts starting to be less repetitive. It has been making some good days on the water causing the fish to be more active. Redfish have been moving into their spring patterns, pushing up to the oyster bars and mangrove edges on high tides. Shrimp and pilchards have been working best to get them excited to eat. If your baits are swimming out of there targeted zone, trim their tails back - it will hold them in place longer and give the fish more time to eat.
