Post-front conditions have brought water temperatures down to the 60-degree range, but the mercury steadily climbs to 70 degrees within a few days of sunny weather. These fluctuations are critical for anglers to consider when planning their outings.
Clear skies and calm winds following a cold front create ideal sight fishing conditions. Redfish and spotted sea trout are actively cruising the shallows, especially during these bright, sunny days. Fly anglers and light tackle enthusiasts can capitalize on these conditions by focusing on flats with clean, shallow water.
The current moon phases are producing significant negative low tides during the morning hours. These tides confine fish to deeper potholes, channels, and areas that retain water. This concentration makes it easier to locate schools of fish, but stealth and precision are key. Approach these areas quietly to avoid spooking your targets.
