Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Tampa Fishing Charters Fishing Report

Spring is off to a great start here in Tampa Bay. The weather is fantastic and the fishing is off the charts. Water temperatures are in the mid 70's and snook, redfish, trout and tarpon are all available. This is the beginning of some of the best fishing of the year. After a long winter our gamefish are out and feeding all day long.

The trout and snook are falling prey to the topwater plugs already. This time of year they will eat them all day long. Another solid option is the mirrolure catch 2000. Redfish can be taken on a variety of soft plastics with Zman Paddlers in Houdini being a personal favorite.

Tarpon are starting to lay up around the bay and other spots. I have been targeting these early season fish with my fly clients with great success. If you are interested in a tarpon fishing trip in the Tampa Bay area please give me a call. Fly Fishing for tarpon is passion of mine and if you want to pick a fight with the silver king I'm your guy.
