Tarpon Springs - Saltwater Fishing Report

Snook, Fishing over the past weekend on the North side of Anclote Key in the pass. I landed a 33 Incher just laying in the strong outgoing tide current. I also hooked up and landed a few other Snook, Flounder and some of the small beach whiting. (At least I think thats what their called). Remember if you are catching Snook they are OUT OF SEASON and to handle them with care and release them. The main bite was early sunrise and as I pulled anchor to leave I saw 3 other large Snook laying in the current just hanging in about 5 ft of water. Fishing the beaches is easy but watch for Stingrays as they were laying all over in the 1 ft of wading water. Cast from your wading spot at 45 degree angles as you walk the beach. If live fishing Cast your white bait out and let it drift as you walk with it. A free lined bait may work well also.
Target Species:

SNOOK
