Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Every year before the first serious cold front we see signs of the bait migration. And with it comes fast fishing for screaming false albies.
Harkers Island gets all the attention for this fishery, yet I bet we could give them a run for their money.
Its not uncommon to land 40 fish in a couple hours, and the fish average 10 - 12 pounds. Its nothing to double up with fly rods or light spinners the schools are so big.
You will also find huge ladyfish( up to 5 lbs) and more mackerel than you ever want to see. If its a true blitz, throw in 100 birds and sharks slashing through the melee.
Snook are feeding well and starting to venture into the back waters. We have been throwing just about anything at them and getting positive results. Im excited for the upcoming cleaner water that comes along with the cold. (About the only thing good from the cold).
Redfish have really stepped up to the plate in numbers in the last week.
We are still catching tarpon, the bigger ones are focused on the mullet schools and the smaller ones are in the creeks.

I just put our latest movie( High in the lowlands) on my website
www.naplesfloridaflyfishing.com and you can get a taste of what goes on here in Nov-Dec in this movie. We filmed it last year at this time. If you would like to watch our other films you can see them at www.worldangling.com Films have been shot in different locales from the Everglades to the Keys on over to the Bahamas and up to Louisiana.
Please call if you would like to sample some of the greatest light tackle/ fly fishing the winter has to offer in the US.
Thank you,
