Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

There is so much hype about the fish kill it is driving me crazy. All I hear is doom and gloom from so many. The truth of the matter is that the fish are here, they are just vacationing in new areas.
Since the freeze, the red fish have taking center stage. Not bothered by the cold, reds have been all over the outside flats feeding heavily.
Small shrimp patterns with weighted eyes have been the go to. All natural colors in size 1-2. Most fish are in the slot averaging 4-6 pounds.

I have been seeing ALOT of big snook! Getting them to eat has been a different story. I think alot of these 20 + pound snook are moving in offshore, wanting to get back to the warmer back country. These giants are out of place, finding them sliding around on shallow flats is odd for fish of this size. Dave Teper caught an absolute monster on my boat last week! A 42 inch slob on a red fish fly barely 2 inches long. His biggest ever!
Its great to see survivors from the cold spell,
and everything seems to be coming back together.

Ten Thousand Islands Fishing Forecast:

Red fish are on the feed in ultra shallow water, and snook are moving back in from the last blast. As weather stabilizes I expect the fishing to get better.
Target Species:

Anything that eats a fly, especially tarpon and snook!
