Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Each morning you can feel the pleasant change of Fall in the air. A drier wind from the east starts everyday off, cool and refreshing.
Off the beaches you can see the schools of bait returning from where ever they go in the summer.
Schools of mackeral, ladyfish, and blue runners attack the bait in such large schools you can see the water frothing from along ways away. The dozens of terns and seagull hovering over them is the easiest way to find such activity.
Of course all this commotion attracts other species such as sharks, tarpon, and bonito to create a feeding frenzy, as the food chain is in full effect.

Snook are running the beaches as well as scouring the shorelines in the Everglades. Slowly starting to venture out of the shadows and linger a little longer out in the open in search of food.
Schools of black drum are being caught along the beaches in Marco as well as red fish, which will be schooling up as well.
The stone crab traps will be getting dropped in soon so the triple tail can be another species to keep an eye out for.
Fall bring so many opportunities for the willing fisherman, and the air temps are quite pleasant.
Book a day of fishing before the blitz of reckless tourist start to wander south and congest the water ways. It is still very quiet around here, with very few boaters. The solitude awaits those who care to venture out in the lonely waters of the 10,000 Islands.
