Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Feels like Fall is on the way!
This morning I noticed the wind started early, and felt less humid than usual. The dog days of summer are slowly slipping away.
Last week I had the pleasure to take out E.J. and Sharon Sigety for a morning excursion. By all means it was not an active morning. First spot during low light conditions and dirty water was tough, we had one shot at a big redfish. E.j. made a perfect cast but fish blew out.
Next went to a creek where I usually find small tarpon but tide was lower than I thought and saw nothing.
So the sun has climbed higher into the sky and decide to run to the outside for clean water and a fresh incoming tide. We pole across a semi-clear grass flat to find a few red fish scurrying around and one big 30" red laying motionless. I could see it from top of the platform but the angle they had was a bit into the sun making it hard for them to see. So we push on where there was an oysterbar with a trough on one side. We found multiple snook laying in the trough feeding on the incoming tide. E.J. and Sharon both nabbed a couple snook on the fly to bring bright smiles.
I had a great time and enjoyed their company and their boat, a new Gordon Waterman. An exact match to my Whipray!
Expect to start seeing an influx of redfish on the inside points as fall gets closer. Until the next time tight lines and screaming drags to all.
Capt. Jeff
