Snook!

Capt. Matt Hoover
May 27, 2008
Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

The winds died down in between cold fronts this past week. Temperatures got hot and so did the fishing. For awhile there, it seemed like old times.

Bait was easier to get and snook came out of the woodwork. We caught snook, snapper, an occasional redfish and jacks on the outside, middle islands and in the back bays of Marco and the Ten Thousand Islands. Most of the snook that we caught were a little dark on their backs so it was obvious that they were in hiding for awhile.

There are still a few tarpon around but they are spotty at best. We have to get over the winds and the other effects of this latest cold front. Hopefully it is the LAST one. I'll see you on the water.

Ten Thousand Islands Fishing Forecast:

The winds should tame down after this latest cold front

Target Species:

snook,redfish,trout,tarpon
