Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Wind, wind, and more heavy wind. Have bait, will travel. That's right, the wind has been plaguing us this past week. I have been catching plenty of live bait and as a result, the fishing has been nothing short of spectacular.
We had a record breaking cold front a few weeks ago. What is interesting is that all of the snook that we have been catching, no matter where you go are all dark. This confirms the fact that they hunker down in the back country during a stressful time. I have been getting double digit days on snook all week at just about every venue of water. It has been taking live bait to get it done though. There are a lot of places that I would like to fish but cant because of the heavy wind.
We have seen a few big tarpon but I think that they are remaining off shore for the most part because of the heavy wind.
A few redfish and jacks of all sizes have been rounding out the day. We are in the middle of our season and I am looking forward to slick water and tarpon. I will try to keep you posted but we are very busy right now. I'll see you on the water.
Quick note, it ca;lmed down for a couple of days. We got to fight and land a few large tarpon this week. Klye rayburn landed a hog of about 130-149 this week. Take two Aleve and I'll see you in the morning. Matt
