Ten Thousand Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing the past couple of weeks has been very hot to luke warm. Winds kept us guessing from time to time but I found snook and redfish in the back bays of the Ten Thousand Islands.
I spent a few days fly dishing and caught a few snook up to the slot limit but most of my action has been coming from throwing live bait. The snook that I found were in the back country bays and they still were sea run silver. That means that they made a run for it when we had back to back cold fronts.
This past week I have been concentrating mostly on Tarpon as the weather has been fairly mellow. We have had some spectacular days with the tarpon slow trolling live baits behind the boat with the trolling motor. If they didn't go for that method, I anchored the boat and threw down cut baits. We caught fish that went from eighty to one hundred and seventy pounds every day this past week.

I will be fishing for tarpon in the up coming weeks as long as the weather holds. I am still very busy but will try to get an update whenever I can. I'll see you on the water.
