Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Space Coast report 7/24/06
Mosquito Lagoon fishing report from Spotted Tail, 7/24/06
My apologies to those who look forward to my (usually) weekly report. We were on a family vacation last week and I didn't get a chance to write or post one.
Last week I only fished two days. Friday my son Maxx, his girlfriend Jen, and I took the Bang O Craft out onto Mosquito Lagoon. The weather was perfect, spectacular.
We found a large school of slot sized redfish from which we caught about a dozen individuals. Jen had never caught a red before, and caught several without assistance, the largest fish she's ever caught. She was a happy young lady! See the pictures at http://www.spottedtail.com
Saturday morning Maxx and I went out of Port Canaveral. The pogies were just south of the jetty and one throw of the net got me enough for several trips, especially with the (lack of) action we found. We ran down the beach looking for tarpon without success, then went out about three or four miles looking for weeds or other flotsam. A large, ominous cloud was out there, dropping a lot of rain and moving west. We tried slow trolling for about 30 minutes out near the end of the buoy line but when the wind freshened we immediately bailed out. The boat was back on the trailer before 10 AM and we were skunkified as we could be.
I hope to get out kayak fishing tomorrow.
Remember- life is short. GO FISHING!
Life is great and I love my work!!
