Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

The water in the Indian River Lagoon continues to be low and clear, with excellent conditions for sight fishing. There have been loads of slot sized reds around, often in big schools with hundreds of individual fish. Big trout are sunning themselves in very shallow water, but have been very tough to catch.
Big reds are found around bars in Mosquito Lagoon right now. They are next to impossible to get on artificials but have been taking mullet pretty well, both live finger mullet and chunks.
Outstanding Catch Dept.:
On Tuesday Greg Ritland wanted to go to the no motor zone to catch a black drum on fly. It was windy which made fishing tough. He missed the first strike, broke off the second, and landed the third. We don't know exactly how big this fish was, since it bottomed out my 30 lb. BogaGrip. The fly was a Maxx's Black Drum Clouser minnow. Nice going, Greg!
An honorable mention goes to Chris Mullen, who got his first redfish ever, on fly, in the Mosquito Lagoon. The fly was a Son of Clouser. Good work, Chris!
Upcoming Events:
The Cypress Gardens Great Outdoors Adventure Show will be from March 17-19. I'll be speaking there, as will many other better known fishing personalities. C'mon out and see us!
