Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report
Outstanding Catch Dept.- Fishing continues to be outstanding. Yesterday I fished Rusty Chinnis. We had been out all of 20 minutes when he cast to and hooked a 41 inch, 27 lb. redfish, his biggest ever. Since this fish was caught with a fly rod, it qualifies as the outstanding catch of the week. The fly was a Maxx's Black Drum Clouser minnow. I had two young ladies from Orlando out last Saturday, Nacole Bright and Krystal Hall. Nacole got a 23 lb. red and Krystal got a 20 lb.er. These ladies definitely get an honorable mention in the outstanding catch department!
Upcoming Events- I'll be presenting seminars and signing books at the following events: Cypress Gardens Great Outdoors Adventure Show, March 17-19 (this weekend!); Wilderness Outfitters (Kissimmee) Seminar, April 1; Florida Fishing Outfitters (Titusville) Anglers Day, April 15 and 16. Come on out and talk to me, I'd love to see you there! Come meet Maxx, the fly tier!
Elmer Cedar of California got his first three reds on fly Tuesday afternoon. Bob and Evelyn Crane got numerous reds and a black drum Tuesday morning. David Saliba, a fly caster from Virginia, got his first reds on fly on Sunday. Rusty and I went wading yesterday afternoon and got 25 (approximately) redfish to 13 pounds and Rusty also got a couple of 3 lb. trout. Yes, we were fly fishing, using both Royal Phoenician Clouser minnows and Maxx's Redfish Fly. Incredibly hot fly fishing!
