Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week's report on the upper Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon
from Spotted Tail, updated 4/6
Now booking TARPON trips for May and June for the SW Florida coast!
I failed to file a report last week. Busy me, home improvement projects and all...
On 3/27 I fished Mr. Larry Kirk and his bride for a half day in the Mosquito Lagoon. They got five reds, the best day we've had in a while. Thursday we got rained out, Friday we got skunked on a fly fishing trip.
Monday 4/2 I fished Bruce Snead, a fly fisher from Atlanta, in the no motor zone of the Banana River. Bruce only had a few shots, but all were at big fish. He made the most of one of them and landed what may be the biggest red we'll get this year, an enormous specimen that was pushing 40 pounds. The fish took a Maxx's Black Drum Clouser. I also fished Bruce on Tuesday in the Mosquito Lagoon. We saw a fair number of fish, and he made some great casts. No response from the fish, though.
Wednesday I fished George Downing and his son in law Doug, also from Atlanta and also in the Mosquito Lagoon. They got three reds and two nice trout on spoons and jerk baits. One of the trout was 27" long, a gorgeous fish. Still, fishing continues to be slow.
I still think that fishing is great, and I love my work!
