Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week's report on the upper Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon
from Spotted Tail, updated 4/14
Now booking TARPON trips for May and June for the SW Florida coast!
On Tuesday I fished with Paul Renard, a flycaster from Pennsylvania. We were in the Mosquito Lagoon and saw numerous redfish and trout, but with the exception of a fat five pound trout none of the fish were interested in our offerings.
Thursday Paul Krugvold, a fly caster from Norway, graced my boat. We also fished in the Mosquito Lagoon. His first fish of the day was a 9.5 pound trout, the largest ever caught from one of my boats on any kind of tackle, an outstanding catch. Paul got another trout and a redfish before we called it a day.
Friday I fished Dr. Bob Hicks on a half day in the Mosquito Lagoon. Bob got one redfish and we lost two others.
Yesterday we took a kayak trip down the Econlockhatchee River. The redbreasts are bedding. We also saw numerous bass and catfish, and an exotic species called the armored catfish has obviously found the Econ to its liking. I also saw a couple of lost shad up there...
Fishing is great, and I love my work!
