Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week's report on the upper Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon
from Spotted Tail, updated 5/31
Now booking TARPON trips for June for the SW Florida coast!
It may come as a surprise that some guides complain about their anglers. Having taught eighth grade science class in public schools I usually don't but sometimes you have to wonder.
In terms of numbers of fish seen this has to be the best season I have ever had. We had a day where we saw a couple thousand fish. Not a single one ate, though. Extremely aggravating. Who's fault was it- guide, fishermen, or fish?
I came home on Monday and picked up my son Maxx for some tarpon fishing this week. Tuesday he hooked and boated a fish of about 120 pounds using a crab for bait. Wednesday he wanted a bigger challenge, so he went with the fly rod and hooked and boated a fish of about 80 pounds on a Polar Fiber Minnow.
Today we went out with Rusty Chinnis. Maxx let Dad hook up to a fish of 100 pounds or so, also on a Polar Fiber Minnow. I got two jumps out of the fish before he tossed the fly.
I've only got a few dates left open, and fishing has been really good lately. Call soon, tarpon only come by a couple months a year!
Fishing is great, and I love my work!
