Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week's report on the upper Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon
from Spotted Tail, updated 11/26
It looks like the fish are getting into their winter pattern. That's a good thing, since I think they're a lot easier to find, and between fronts fishing is much more consistent.
Last Monday I went scouting. The weather was gorgeous, and there were fish almost everywhere I looked. I got four trout to four pounds and and eight redfish to ten pounds, on a combination of weedless jigs, jerkbaits, and flies.
Tuesday I fished Chris and Kelly Smith, fly casters from California. Chris got two nice reds on a bunny strip fly. In spite of having some great chances, Kelly unfortunately went fishless.
Wednesday Bob Steinkamp and his friend John, both from Apopka, graced the Spotted Tail. The fish were not as plentiful as the previous two days, but we still saw plenty of fish and put five or six redfish in the boat, mostly on jerkbaits.
Saturday I got the family out for three hours in the wind and overcast. Susan and Alex each got one red on a jerkbait.
Fishing is great and I love my work!
