Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week's report on the upper Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon from Spotted Tail, updated 4/12
Now booking tarpon dates for SW Florida Beaches!!
It's great getting emails from your anglers when they look like this:
"Just a note to thank you for the outstanding day Laura and I spent fishing with you. It may have been one of the most enjoyable days I have ever had fishing. I have been recommending you highly and look forward to the next opportunity."
This came from Gene McDonough of Virginia. I fished Gene and his lovely wife Laura on the Indian River on 4/4. They jumped two tarpon and got four reds between 13 and 18 pounds, not a bad day.
Monday Joe Mulson and I went scouting in the Mosquito Lagoon, launching at River Breeze. The clouds were scudding and the wind was blowing about 20 mph. We saw exactly one trout and two reds in about five hours.
Tuesday I drove to Parrish Park, looked at the lagoon, turned right around, and drove home. I went to the Econlockhatchee River where I got a mixed bag of redbreasts, shellcrackers, bluegills, and baby largemouths, about 20 fish altogether, all on sponge spiders and black wooly boogers.
Wednesday the wind was still blowing so I again visited the Econ. What a beautiful little stream! I did about the same thing I had the day before.
Yesterday I fished Mark Marsh and Randy Driggins in the Mosquito Lagoon. We got four reds to 10 pounds on gold spoons, and Randy hooked one on a Flash Fly. Randy also got a trophy blowfish on a jerk bait. Man, that sucker looked like a softball!
This morning in two and a half hours of wind, rain, and cold Mark Marsh and I got exactly two ladyfish. We should have slept in.
It's still great to be alive, and I still love my work!!
