Titusville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Spotted Tail report 6/12
This week’s fishing report from Spotted Tail, updated 6/12/05
The report is short this week. I have an approaching deadline on a big writing project and the weather has still been somewhat less than what the chamber of commerce dreams about. It's raining right now, as a matter of fact.
Monday I drove to River Palms in Jensen Beach with Rodney Smith for the DOA Bash. We arrived too late for the "official" fishing, so we went wading and fly casting from the property for about an hour. Rodney was tossing a sexyfly, I a popper. He got one bite, I got none.
Tuesday I boarded Paul Strauss's Action Craft with John Wildeman. Using various DOA baits we got 9 slot sized trout, a jack and a ladyfish. At the end of the day I hooked on a DOA Shrimp what we strongly suspect was a monster snook, but it spooled my Stradic 1000 before we could even begin to give chase.
Wednesday I had the pleasure of fishing with Ray Markham. I missed or lost every strike I had, while Ray got a slot sized trout, a slot sized redfish, a nice, fat snapper, and three or four snook to 15 pounds, all on various DOA Lures. Ray, I mailed the film out yesterday!
I've been at the computer since I got back, watching it rain, for the most part.
Remember- life is short. GO FISHING!
Life is also great and I love my work!!
