Catching plenty of fish

Capt. Dave Pinkham
June 1, 2008
Venice - Saltwater Fishing Report

We've been catching lots of fish and depending on the lenght of the trip different species.

On the deeper wrecks the permit are making a good showing. Some of these beautiful fish weight in to over 25 pounds.

Just west of the beaches there is plenty of tarpon. The key here is not to spook them.

Big Spanish mackerel are scattered from just off the beach to 15 miles offshore. Pilchards seems to be the best bait, but we're also picking them up trolling spoons.

Grouper and snapper fishing has been very dependable although we have been catching a lot more larger fish on the longer trips.
