Fishing on the Gulf is red hot!

Capt. Dave Pinkham
July 13, 2008
Venice - Saltwater Fishing Report

What a great time for fishing on the Gulf of Mexico. Aboard the Legacy we've been catching all sorts of fish.

Yesterday on a full day trip we limited out on red grouper as well as caught a nice mess of mangrove snapper. The folks requested a shark and low and behold next thing ya know they hooked into something big. The action ended when an eight foot nurse shark busted the surface two feet from the boat. The shark was released without injury.

On the shorter trips we been providing plenty of action with some big Spanish mackerel as well as some hefty kingfish. The big problem has been some huge baracuda hitting the fish before we can get them to the boat.
