Permit showing up offshore

Capt. Dave Pinkham
June 19, 2008
Venice - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Gulf has been beautiful, and the action continues to be very good. Yesterday we fished over a wreck about 15 miles west of Venice and had lots of fish hitting.

These wrecks always seem to produce good fishing action and right now there some schools of permit which can go as big as 25 pounds hanging over this sunken structure. Best baits to get them to hit has been shrimp and crabs.

Bottom fishing for grouper and mangrove snapper has been decent with plenty of keepers to keep everyone happy.

We've also been picking up some nice kingfish to 20 pounds.

Deep Sea Fishing aboard our offshore charter boat "Legacy". We are located directly on the Venice Inlet just 2 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf waters along the SW coast of Florida offer anglers some of the best fishing action in the country. We catch all sorts of fish such as grouper, snapper, cobia, king mackerel, shark, tuna, baracuda, and others. Our professional Captain and deckhand work hard to make sure you catch a lot of fish and have the best fishing trip of your life!
