Jekyll Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Nice Trout and Flounder today. Inshore Trout Fishing is tough right now in shallow water areas, so fish deep to make the best of the bad conditions and take home a few Gator Trout, and hit the shallows for trophy Size Flounder!

After a 4 month battle with fresh water flooding into our saltwater creeks and sounds, the Spring season has dragged with it one more problem for fishermen... A seemingly forever lasting, relentless East Wind along the Georgia Coast has created fishing conditions that are the opposite of desirable, to say the least.
Pulling off a good fishing trip in these conditions requires patience, lightweight rigging for deep water drops, large baits and moving water.

It doesn't take many 3-4 Pound Trout to make your day. If it's your day, you'll know it! Big Trout fight hard and are challenging to land when they reach the 20 inch range.. with all the challenges, it's still a lot of fun!
Big Flounder like the one Josh Cook is holding in the photos from a few days ago have been cooperative for the past couple of weeks in the shallows on falling tide stages. Again, a light tackle challenge and a very sly feeder! All fun stuff!
